SAGA Announces a Name Change for its Charitable Arm

Operating SAGA Community Fund for almost a year, SAGA Construction has made the decision to re-brand our charitable arm as we seek the new status of a federally constituted charity. The SCF initials remain the same, but our name change to SAGA Community Focus, strengthens our direction and the clarity of our mission.

The new direction of SAGA Community Focus will be formalized by a reorganization that includes the addition of a Board of Directors and Officers to guide and streamline our goals. Requests for funding will be evaluated not only on individual merits, but also on how they relate to the SAGA business model established by the existing Construction and Development arm of the organization.

It is the Firm’s intention to identify and assist those charitable efforts that not only assist those in need within our communities, but will ultimately encourage efforts to drive the long-term economic future of the region, namely the Outer Banks and our Inner Banks.

The SAGA family and members of the SAGA Community Focus remain dedicated to the future of this region. Our primary focus is to support opportunities for development, employment and generating educational scholarships for our youth. Therefore, every effort will be made to identify outreach programs focused on health, education and entertainment, which enhance the outstanding works of existing charitable programs.

When operating as the SAGA Community Fund, our contributions include the ongoing AED SAGA/Dewey Parr Challenge, which continues to provide Automated External Defibrillator units to Dare County patrol cars until we reach our 62-unit goal. We thank the private citizens and business partners who have assisted us in reaching this live saving commitment. Two notable partnerships include the Mustang Music Festival, held in October, and the Outer Banks Sporting Events Triathlon, held in September.

It would be impossible to reach our charitable goals on our own, so we will continue to call upon individuals and local businesses who share our commitment to the people of the Outer Banks. Their financial support and willingness to volunteer have already made a significant difference and we believe will make lead us into a brighter future. We extend a heartfelt thank you to our existing partners and welcome others to join us in our endeavors.
